I have two types of Newsletters that I subscribe to.
- Material that I may refer to later and want to keep
- Material of a topical nature that I don’t always want to read, but certainly have no wish to archive
This article outlines my novel approach on handling email overload for the type #2 messages.

I am leveraging Google’s services here. I already have a GMAIL account, but I create a 2nd one called subs.mainaddress@gmail.com and when I subscribe to source of category #2, I use the subs. account.
I then set up a GMAIL filter on the subs. account do DELETE EVERYTHING IMMEDIATELY. This causes all incoming mail to go straight to Trash, however GMAIL only empties the Trash after 30 days.
This way whenever I want to reed these “transient” emails, I’ll just log into my subs. account and view the Trash folder. I never have to do any housekeeping, as everything older than 30 days, disappears. If I find something important, then I just forward it to one of my mainstream email accounts.
If your other cloud mail service has similar facility to auto delete everything after 30 days, then you can use that of course.
